Directions
Combine cinnamon and sugar and set aside.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut the butter into flour. (You want the butter to be the size of peas.)
Stir in the buttermilk, starting with 3/4 cup, until the dry ingredients are moistened. Do not over mix. Add more buttermilk if necessary.
Sprinkle 1/2 of the cinnamon sugar evenly over the cookie dough. Fold the dough over once. Using a large spoon or cookie scoop, place dough, 2 inches apart, on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Brush the cookie trays with melted butter, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar generously over the tops of the cookies.
Bake in a preheated 450 degree oven for 13-15 minutes, until golden brown.
