Buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy from scratch


°1 pound of bacon breakfast sausage I highly recommend making your own
°3 tablespoons butter
°1/4 cup all-purpose flour
°3 cups of milk


for the best biscuits and gravy from scratch:

1) In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until brown and crumbly. If the oil is excess, pat dry, keeping 1 tablespoon of sausage oil in the skillet.

2) Add the butter and stir well until it melts.

3) Sprinkle the sausages with flour, stir and leave to simmer for several minutes.

4) Add milk and stir. Keep stirring occasionally over medium heat for 5-10 minutes until the broth thickens.
